Stampin’UP! 2013 Convention … Display Board #2

Posted July 28, 2013 By Becky Tuttle

Yes I could overwhelm you with all of the displays at one time but goodness, there are just too many photos that the posting would go for pages and pages! Today I want to share with you Display Board #2 of samples by other demonstrators that were available to view at the convention. Again I need to remind you that I was often behind people when taking the photos so there may be hands, heads, elbows in the photos. I have cropped them down in hopes of getting better images but I also had to keep moving with the flow of the people so some may not be the clearest of images. If you want to view the image better click on it to view larger. Yes there was a Display Board 1a photo of a single scrapbook page, but it was so out of focus I decided that you really wouldn’t appreciate attempting to look at it!  If you do want to see it just send me an email and I will be happy to send it to you!

So now the question is, which item is your favorite? There are a few that I really like but I will share my favorite with you this next week after I create my own version of it!

Enjoy your weekend and happy stamping,

My favorite from Display Board #1

My favorite from Display Board #1

In my last posting I asked you which card was your favorite. I have three card that I would like to CASE but this is the one that I like the most … at this moment! Take a look at Display Board 1e and you will find the card that I based this off of. I changed it up and really like the final result. This card is a perfect one to make when you want to use up those small pieces of patterned paper. The ingredient list can be found at the bottom of this blog post and features a few of the new items you can find in Stampin’UP!s “Your Guide to Holiday Happiness.” The Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Sweater Weather DSP, and the Label Bracket Punch will all be available to purchase on August 1st. If you haven’t received your copy of the new Holiday Happiness send me an email at justbusystampin@comcast.net and I will drop one in the mail to you! I hope you enjoy my favorite card. Leave a comment and let me know what your favorite card is.

Recipe for card: Stamp: Papillon Potpourri. Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Old Olive. Classic Ink: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Sky. DSP: Sweater Weather. Other: Big Shot, Stylish Stripes EF, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Square Lattice EF, Label Bracket Punch, 1″ Circle Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Bird Punch, Pearls Basic Jewels, Snail Adhesive, Sticky Strip, Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Two-way Glue Pen, Sponge Dauber.

Stampin’UP! Sample Display Boards

Posted July 25, 2013 By Becky Tuttle

Crazy as it may sound, one of the things that I truly enjoyed at convention were all of the projects that were displayed. I was dumbfounded with so many things to look at. So many things that I could concentrate on just one thing. It was much like being in a candy store with too much to choose from! The first night I took a look as best I could to the many displays. There were so many people that it was difficult to see everything. I made an action plan that the next day I would try to get to the boards early and take photos of each board. Then I could take my photos and use the copy and crop feature and zoom in on each card. Loft plans.

I did get photos of each and every board but it was a challenging task. I often found myself going against the flow of the crowd like a fish swimming up stream. Sometimes I just had to stand fast in hopes of getting a photo without a person’s hair, hand, fingers, back, arm, whatever flying through the view as I clicked the button. I am not one to push my way to the front to get that photo … guess I might have to rethink that the next time.

Below are the photos that I took of the first display board. It is my understanding that the cards on these boards are items that have been mailed to the Stampin’UP! offices during the year plus some that were dropped off at convention. Guess I need to send in some of mine for the next convention. You will notice that the photos overlap each other but I had to make sure that I got everything! A few of the photos are not in focus but they are not so far out of focus that you can’t figure out what it is. You will see a large amount of samples using products that are no longer available but you can always tweak the stamp sets and adjust the papers and colors. So taking a look at the photos of Display Board #1, tell me which card you like the best. Leave a comment below.

I have narrowed it down to three cards that I really like but I am not certain which I like the best. I will continue to contemplate that question and when I decide I am going to attempt to replicate it, or at least the design/style since not all are current product. After I make my card I will share it with you here.

Back from convention and oh so much to share

Posted July 23, 2013 By Becky Tuttle

I just spent four days in Salt Lake City, Utah. Three of those days were all for Stampin’UP! I attended the 25th Anniversary Convention with over 6,000 others. I walked into the convention center and immediately you could hear the sounds of excitement and conversation. From a distance it was as if I had stepped into a large bee hive with the buzzing sound! And that was so appropriate since the theme for this year is “Be the Difference!” No pun intended!

Many of you know that I am a photographer. Well, I have to admit that I didn’t take photos when on the train except for a few with my phone, but at the convention I took many. How many? I am going to leave that for your to guess! Let me just give you an idea that when we traveled to Michigan two years ago I took over 7,000 photos.

Photos … I will be sharing photos with you over the course of this week showing some of the projects that have been created using products that will be available for sale in the new “Your Guide to Holiday Happiness” Catalog that goes live on August 1st. Most of these projects are those shown in the catalog but there may be a few that are new for you to view. I know you will enjoy the photos. If you have questions about any of them leave a comment below and I will respond as I can.

I will be back with more to share tomorrow.

Happy stamping,

Becky

Entering the SU home office this banner was there to greet all visitors. Beautiful!

Looking down from the railing is this beautiful water feature. Wow! I am thinking this is one office I wouldn't mind working in.

I was allowed to wander through the Demonstrator Support Department and saw this on one of the desks. How cute is that? Just feel sorry for the little guy who lost his life, but now he is a SU representative!
